3, 2, 1… Action! All eyes are on the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and its famous red carpet, which officially kicked off in France. For the next two weeks, a star-studded line-up will flock to the event to celebrate the 78th annual film festival in all its forms.
Yesterday, the Grand Théâtre Lumière hosted the official opening ceremony. The eagerly-awaited evening was be marked by the presence of Robert De Niro, who will receive the honorary Palme d’Or from Leonardo DiCaprio. Stars such as Julia Garner, Eva Longoria, Bella Hadid, and more all hit the red carpet to kick off the affair—donning their most glamorous fashions. After all, Cannes is one of the most elegant and glitzy film festivals in the world, though many celebrities have rebuked the formal dress code over the years.
Serving on the jury this year, meanwhile, are stars such as Halle Berry, Juliette Binoche, Jeremy Strong, Leila Slimani, and more—all of whom you can also count on attending the various premieres and screenings happening throughout the festival.
