Lollapalooza India 2026 answers every once-angsty millennial’s prayers: Linkin Park

Every January, when the Lollapalooza India lineup is revealed, it feels less like a festival announcement and more like an annual gift to music lovers. In just three editions, the festival has already brought a range of artists to Indian stages that music lovers once had to travel abroad to catch: Imagine Dragons, The Strokes, Sting and Green Day; names that have pulled crowds to the festival like a moth to the flame. And if the previous years have all felt like beautifully growing fires to us music moths, then Lollapalooza India’s 2026 headliners feel like the whole damn sun.

Since I was 12, every time we discussed our top five bucket list bands to watch live, Linkin Park has always been at number one. For many millennials, they were the first rock band that truly helped us make sense of the world. In my case, it began at the age of ten, when I tried to memorise the lyrics to ‘Numb’ to impress a crush. What began as an act of pretence quickly turned into a genuine outlet for my prepubescent rage. And now, to stand in a sea of thousands, shouting along to songs like ‘Faint’, ‘Papercut’, ‘Somewhere I Belong’ and ‘Crawling’ that once played through tangled earphones in dimly lit bedrooms, is the kind of full-circle experience that I know is going to make me and my fellow millennials ecstatic.
