Diana Penty made a case for fringe and sequins in a Tarun Tahiliani ensemble

Tarun Tahiliani doesn’t design in half measures. His clothes are built on craft memory but cut to modern tailoring. On Diana Penty, that translated into a sequined jacket with long panels of fringe falling like oversized pocket flaps, worn over a plunging base and balanced by wide-leg black trousers that gave the embellishment room to breathe.

The jacket was the centrepiece, glinting with tonal sequins and twin panels of long black fringe that fell in the front, cleverly designed to resemble exaggerated pocket flaps. The sleeves carried subtle patterning that nodded to Indian textile traditions, while the deep V-neckline of the shirt beneath introduced ease to the formality of the outfit. Paired with high-waisted, wide-leg black trousers that framed the ornate top without competing with it.

On her feet, pointed black pumps with small bows—almost girlish against the bare discipline of the trousers. Her hair was pulled into a low bun with one strand left loose, breaking the symmetry just enough to feel lived-in. Makeup leaned bronzed and understated: defined eyes, muted peach lips, and luminous skin that caught the light without shimmer.
