The chicest mini-heels to style with long skirts and trousers this winter

If we had to choose a pair of shoes to worship for their silhouette and comfort, they would be the mini heels. Their design comes to say goodbye to flat soles, but without forcing us to take dizzying steps. They allow us to go on walks that last for hours without our feet hurting and make any look, no matter how casual or formal it may seem, to be elevated with just three centimetres (or even less).

Their perception as ‘granny shoes’ was left behind several seasons ago, becoming the favourite of the best-dressed. Whether it’s Erdem’s casual furry models, Rachel Comey’s scale prints or Shushu/Tong’s cherry red proposals, mini heels will always be the great ally of style, capable of transmitting an elegant character without much effort or sacrifice. A concept that fashion trends for Winter 2025 approve of, since to look impeccable, you don’t need a strident impact.

7 ideas for combining mini heels with long skirts and pants in winter 2025

Maximising style is also achieved through discretion, and the shoes in trend for Fall-Winter 2025, including the well-known kitten heels, have become a must-have that perfectly balances the art of standing out without attracting attention. They are ideal for both petite women, who want to add to their presence, and taller women, who value styling without adding too much height. In many ways, they are as versatile as they are elegant, with the ability to work as the perfect base for any look.

We saw it very clearly on Stella McCartney’s runway, low-heeled shoes look divine paired with sartorial garments. They are ideal to elevate the elegance of baggy pants and double-breasted blazers, so that, both in the office and on the street, comfort goes hand in hand with style. Wear them in neutral tones and go for square-toe pumps as an extra touch of modernity that adds an unexpected twist to any classic outfit.

Horoscope Today: November 22, 2025

Cosmic tip: Let go of past hurts and be more willing to be there for others.

Non-stop. Your life has been non-stop, Scorpio, and while you have been wrecking your brain on what to do and how to get things done, you are being asked to hit snooze for just a little while longer before you take the baton and go for the run. You have your own way of operating, and Scorps, this way is unique because it not only touches upon the material, but for a lot of you out there, you are somehow looking at a larger picture that transcends this current life. What we mean is that your decisions are not just based on logical facts, but also are rebalancing karmic scales in the long run, and this might make you feel like time has slowed down and so has your progress, but Scorps, you are earning some serious brownie points from the cosmos. And these bonuses will arrive when you least expect them.

Cosmic tip: Your individuality is merging with your innermost circles, and this is happening in a good way while you still remain an individual.

The more you withdraw within today, Sag, the more you will benefit from it. It might be a stupendous idea today to disconnect from your social media, perhaps, if possible, for a bit from technology as a whole. Use these amazing new moon energies to reflect on what you really want and what aligns with you, not from a superficial perspective, but from a deeply soul-led level. This is the new moon in Scorpio, and the next one will be in your sign, so whatever it is that you are drawn to during this cycle, you will be building upon for the next month and allowing it to flourish then on. Have a little patience because this time out is actually the leap you have been waiting for.

Cosmic tip: Be selective in your engagements and stand your ground firmly.

You want to do this, and then you want to do that, and then you want to do it all. But Capricorn, do you realise that you may be an infinitesimal soul but are still an embodied human? To cut a long story short, you only have so much energy and so much bandwidth, and hence, it may be time to upskill, refine or even declutter your entire gamut and pace of life. The recent past, for some, the past 9 months, may not have been easy to say the least, but you are birthing anew. And while this crowning moment may feel uncertain and shaky, trust that you got this, and you will find your oasis soon.

The team behind LA’s biggest museum just visited Mumbai to learn more about Indian art

LACMA recently unveiled their new David Geffen Galleries building, designed by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Peter Zumthor, and is working up to a grand opening next April. “The entire building is designed to be ‘no hierarchies,’” Govan explains, “It’s three football fields long, it goes over the central boulevard of Los Angeles, it’s a whole different worldview.” Govan jokes that artists are the diplomats of our time, and he’s right; they carry ideas from one culture to another, revive forgotten technologies and tell stories that may otherwise be lost. And just as many artists are embracing AI as another tool in their belt, curators are tapping into an increasingly global network of artists and institutions to enhance their points of view.

It’s no longer enough for cultural exchange to be relegated to a few artworks shuttling back and forth between museums, which also aligns with the NMACC’s mission to meaningfully take India’s heritage and contemporary creativity to the world. “What’s new for me is the depth of personal relationships one can have in the long-term to embed people’s points of view,” Govan shares. “We have Isha Ambani on our board, we have board members in Seoul, Taipei and Doha. That’s new. Once you discover it’s possible, you feel it’s almost an obligation. Why wouldn’t we reach out for all those perspectives on an ongoing basis?”

Sonam Kapoor and Tara Sutaria turned to crystals and pearls in the best looks of the week

If there’s one foolproof way to level up a look, it’s shine. Sonam Kapoor’s hand-painted Tarun Tahiliani jacket caught the light in a soft, subtle way. Tara Sutaria, on the other hand, dialled it all the way up with pearls and crystals. Sanya Malhotra leaned into a clean, glossy finish, while Shanaya Kapoor’s gold set shone from every angle. Different approaches, same instinct to reach for something that catches the eye.

Sonam Kapoor set the bar with a cream ensemble from Tarun Tahiliani‘s collaboration with de Gournay earlier this year. The cream jacket is pure silk, hand-dyed, then fully hand-painted with peonies and finished with gemstones and Swarovski crystals. She layered stacked pearls with an antique gold polki-and-emerald choker for contrast. She completed the look with ivory juttis and an embroidered potli that kept the palette light.

Anuradha Roy’s new book is your sign to move to the mountains to be a better writer

I first met Jerry on a Zoom call at the peak of the pandemic, when I was interviewing Anuradha Roy about her novel The Earthspinner. The author was sat outside her cottage in Ranikhet, Uttarakhand, the sun on her face. Midway through the call, Jerry leapt onto her lap, refusing to budge, demanding cuddles—and then more cuddles. “I’m sorry, I don’t know what to do,” Roy laughed, gently trying to calm him down. But Jerry was determined. He had made her lap his home, and he would not leave. Readers of the book may know that the writer almost manifested Jerry into her world through Chinna, the fictional dog she created. But that is another story.

Nearly five years later, when I speak with Roy again, she is inside the cottage. It is winter in Ranikhet: dusk settling over the cantonment town, gunshots from the Kumaon regiment echoing through the valley, the birds already gone home. Even before the pleasantries, I ask after Jerry, who once again makes an appearance in the 2015 Man Booker–longlisted author’s new book, Called by the Hills: A Home in the Himalayas, published by John Murray Journeys, a Hachette imprint. Can I see him? Is he off somewhere causing mischief? Might he surprise us the way he did years ago? Roy pauses when I say his name. Later in our conversation, she tells me that Jerry was recently mauled by a leopard during a walk in broad daylight. “The leopard was waiting in the bushes. There were people on the road, tourists and such. I heard him yelp, and when I turned back, he was gone. In such cases, you never see the body.”

Nita Ambani paired a Tarun Tahiliani sari with vintage Golconda diamonds

For the inauguration of the Shiv Mandir at Gir in Gujarat, Nita Ambani picked up a striking Tarun Tahiliani ensemble that spotlighted intricate craftsmanship. The sari was a Jamawar in a deep scarlet with burnt-orange tones, covered in scattered paisleys, interlocking motifs and architecture-inspired borders that resembled carved jharokhas. Kashida embroidery with pearls and ochre threads added dimension to the already detailed weave.

Jamawar is known for its patterns woven directly into the textile, a technique that originated in Mughal-era Kashmir and eventually became a mainstay in Indian craft. Kashida, a style of embroidery also from Kashmir, usually draws from the natural world, giving even an ornate textile like Jamawar an organic touch.

Ambani never holds back with jewellery. For this look, two sizable strands of vintage Golconda diamonds from her personal collection adorned her neck. She paired them with stacked ruby-studded bangles on each hand and a single diamond ring.

Her hair was loosely braided and threaded with red and white flowers in a simple, festive finish, while her makeup featured defined eyes and a nude lip on a clean base. A traditional red bindi completed the look.

From Vogue’s fashion desk:

“Nita Ambani’s sari is a beautifully layered and intricate piece of craftsmanship known as Jamawar. Saris with such detailed handiwork are best styled simply so the richness of the fabric stands out. Choose a deep autumnal hue like this TT sari and pair it with a tone-on-tone blouse. Keep jewellery minimal with just a single-strand gemstone necklace and small earrings, a yellow or green stone could go well with autumn colours. Style your hair in a low French bun or let it fall over your shoulder in a soft curl to maintain a refined look,” says Vogue India fashion associate Divya Balakrishnan.

Here’s how to do a full eye look when you only have five minutes

Whether you’re easing into eye makeup or can sculpt and shade with confidence, a quick eye makeup routine brings welcome clarity to a day filled with deadlines and endless to-dos. A few well-placed strokes can streamline rushed mornings and make those spontaneous evenings feel just about manageable.

Vogue’s quick eye makeup essentials

There was a time in the 2010s when I was obsessed with watching lengthy step-by-step makeup routines on YouTube. Back then, thick eye primer, a dramatic cut crease and a razor-sharp cat eye was my signature.

These days, though, I gravitate toward something simpler. A flick of a wing with the same pen I use to fill in my brows, sticking to the outer corners only to avoid smudging on my hooded eyes. Other days, I skip eyeliner altogether and swipe just a single wash of colour across my lids (a bronzer, blush or a brown eyeshadow stick, depending on what’s closest). A coat of tubing mascara helps open the eyes and I’m done. I’m much more focused on lip liner for a pouty finish, rosy cheeks and a fluffy brow. Simple, effortless and just polished enough.

So what’s the trick to refining your eye look? “Cutting down on the number of products you use is key to achieving a faster look,” pro makeup artist Anastasia Vavina previously told Vogue. Remember: a little product goes a long way, especially when time (and patience) is short. Ahead, discover four key tricks to achieving an eye makeup look in five minutes flat.

Stick to a single colour eyeshadow

For your own good, put down the 16-pan eyeshadow palette. Instead, opt for a single eyeshadow for a polished look with zero effort. “There is something so striking about a single colour wash all over the lid,” celebrity makeup artist Jo Baker previously said. “It’s timeless, elegant and ageless and it requires minimal skills to execute, making it a perfect look year-round.”

There are plenty of ways to achieve this simple eye look. “For a quick eye look, cream shadows are your best friend. They blend out beautifully and look like you did more than you actually did,” pro makeup artist Kasey Spickard says.

Opt for multipurpose products

Professional makeup artist El DeBratto knows all about maximising time by minimising the number of products used, in an effort to streamline their routine before early morning shoots. “I’m a huge proponent of finding products you can ‘break the rules’ with and apply to multiple areas of the face, which helps with the overall look of makeup cohesion,” they said. When curating a five-minute routine, Vavina suggests taking a “one-and-done” approach by using the same colour across cheeks, eyes and even lips for a natural, unified flush. Basically, ditch your eyeshadow and use a single-colour cream stick instead. Tap with fingers, blend lightly and your makeup looks cohesive without ever looking overdone.

Swipe on a statement liner

One swipe of eyeliner instantly transforms: the graphic winged eyeliner of the mod era, the moody smudges of ’90s grunge or whisper-thin strokes on the lash line for a minimalist touch. With just a pencil, gel or liquid pen, you can go barely-there or full drama. Eyeliners come in every texture and finish imaginable, from classic kohl that melts on contact to razor-sharp liquids built for precision. The possibilities are endless. “To take an easy eye look up a notch, I like to take an eyeliner in the same colour family but a shade deeper of whatever eyeshadow you use,” says Spickard. “Bring your liner along the the upper and lower lash lines and buff out with your finger or a small pencil brush.”

Bat your lashes big-time

When in doubt, mascara is the simplest route to any easy eye makeup look. Never underestimate what a quick lash curl and a few strategic swipes can do. “Curling your lashes will make you look instantly more awake,” per DeBratto. “I like to curl my lashes to the gods, squeezing the curler from the base of the lashes to the tip to ensure that I get an even bend throughout the lash. Then I’ll opt for my favourite tubing mascara to hold it all together.” The effect is eye-defining, effortless and done in under 30 seconds.

24 thoughts we had about the first teaser for The Moment, starring Charli XCX

8. “How does it feel to have claimed a whole summer?” First it was Barbie, then it was Charli, next summer it’s…me? Anything could happen! – E.S.

9. I’ve googled to see if this was pulled from a real Stephen Colbert interview, and it seems as though he staged a fake show to interview Charli’s alter-ego. I’m so glad Colbert gets the vision. – H.J.

10. Okay, thank you for that due diligence, Hannah! I was just wondering the same! – E.S.

11. As someone with zero poker face, I often wonder what I would do if 1) I became famous, and 2) a fan gave me an ugly portrait they’d made. Unlikely, but good to be prepared just in case. – H.J.

12. All of us should flail in sequins more often, as a society. – E.S.

13. Is there anything more glamorous than being chauffeured around on a golf cart? Studies say no. – H.J.

14. Is it officially too late for me to get a “365 partygirl” T-shirt? Has the culture moved on? I mean, I fully cried when Lorde brought Charli out at her show at the Kia Forum last month, so clearly I haven’t. – E.S.

15. A brief clip, but Charli seems to be skewering celebrity credit card partnerships at the 0:58 second mark. She made up a fake bank, Howard Stirling, so—fear not—no financial institutions were harmed in the making of this film. Phew!!! – H.J.

16. The way I would do literally anything for any credit card company for a not-even-that-impressive amount of money if I became famous… – E.S.

17. Kylie Jenner????? – H.J.

18. Same Q. – E.S.

19. Charli, PLEASE, enough with this strobe effect, I BEG!!! – H.J.

20. I get that it goes with the whole club-kid theme, but I can’t say that I care for it either, TBH. – E.S.

21. They tease a real stacked cast here, with Kate Berlant and Alexander Skarsgård among them. But the one that really caught my eye is Jamie Demetriou, whom Fleabag fans will remember as “Bus Rodent.” – H.J.

22. Oh, wow, I did not clock that. – E.S.

23. In theatres January 30th! Wow, love a theatrical release! – H.J.

Conflict, opposing views and stalemates? Trust us and blame it on Mercury Retrograde. But honestly, Aries, remember that this time that you are experiencing, a lot is happening cosmically, and you are a fragment of the cosmos, so it is but natural for you to feel the stirs and embers of supersonic, volcanic eruptions happening across the galaxies. You may have the best interests of everyone in mind, and so may everyone else, but Cancer, today, remember that just because something does not align with you in the moment does not mean that it is wrong or incorrect. Try to remain open and adaptable to various perspectives. Looking back at burnt bridges or a volcanic history? Leo, ask yourself how true this bit of your past holds even today? You are in a cushier place than you were before, and you know the best part? You have also managed to retain parts of your naive, innocent self. Now allow these childlike curious parts of your personality to surface and come out and play. Your significant other has really been trying hard, in their own way, but they have. Relationships that felt like they needed a revamp are under reconstruction, and you can sense it. Scorpio, either you feel renewed, a relationship or person feels refreshed, or a new person enters your life to amp things up. Whatever the case, personal or professional, something promising is lined up for you.

Read on for what the stars have in store for you, and make sure you check out your sun, moon and rising signs for the complete picture.

Cosmic tip: Something moves forward, and you are required to move with it.

The circus you are dancing in, is it even yours, Taurus? You are a headstrong personality, we get it, but do you really need to be this staunch about everything in life? Life in technicolour tastes, smells and feels a lot better than life in black and white, so why don’t you give it a shot? Learn what you can from recent rifts, try and get a better perspective on everyone’s thought process, and then you will realise that no one is defying anyone, perhaps each one is only bringing forward what they can best in the given moment.

Is being ‘spiritually’ Gen Z the latest flex?

To explain Gen Z—Onika Burger, lying for no reason, doing it for the plot, 6-7—would be a futile endeavour. Everybody who is not Gen Z is constantly trying and failing to understand them. But is it possible to capture the vibe, the absurdist humour and the boundaries of a generation without actually being born into it? In a recent Vanity Fair interview, in which Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson take a lie detector test, the Mickey 17 actor does a bit where he insists that he is, in fact, Gen Z:

Pattinson: I like taking jobs of younger actors.
Lawrence: Yeah.
Pattinson: I do.
Lawrence: Okay.
Pattinson: I wanna play 17 again. There’s a movie, Zac’s movie. 17 Again.
Lawrence: I did think it was insane when you cold FaceTimed me and I was like, “It’s crazy to cold FaceTime somebody,” and you were like, “No, it’s Gen Z.” Do you wish you were Gen Z?
Pattinson: I said I am Gen Z.
Lawrence: You’re not Gen Z. You’re a millennial.
Pattinson: I am.
Lawrence: No, you’re a millennial. How old are you?
Pattinson: (turns to the lie detector) Truthful?
Lawrence: I believe that you believe that you’re Gen Z.
Pattinson: I am Gen Z.
Lawrence: What year were you born?
Pattinson: It doesn’t matter.
Lawrence: Okay. I can’t do this.

Truthful? Pattinson is 39. It’s hilarious that he commits to the bit, and even funnier that he manages to rattle Lawrence, who is usually the menace in the room. A comment under the interview said, “I love how he’s both speaking and looking like the crazy dude you avoid eye contact with on the street.” And they’re right, because that’s exactly what also makes him so… appealing. He is genuinely unserious, instead of coming across as the self-obsessed, tortured, almost-40-year-old ‘method actor’ he could very well be, or a media-trained robot regurgitating the same lines in every interview. That’s precisely what Gen Z is into. We like our celebrities a little weird, because it makes them feel real. It’s the same reason why we love Reneé Rapp, Alex Consani and Katseye: their so-called ‘lack of media training’ makes them seem relatable and actually human.

And of course, Pattinson takes himself seriously as an actor; there’s no doubt about that. He cares about his craft and is evidently good at it, with big releases like The Odyssey, Dune: Part Three, The Batman Part II and The Drama all lined up for next year. That’s why it’s so funny when he doesn’t take himself seriously as a person, especially during press tours and interviews.

It’s funny because Gen Z does the same thing—we’re deeply committed to our work even if the internet has given us a bad name. Some of the most talented, dedicated, passionate people I know are Gen Z, but we’ve been gaslit into believing that our insistence on boundaries equals a lack of work ethic. Our light-heartedness and refusal to be miserable are treated as unprofessional, as if protecting your peace makes you part of an ‘unhirable generation.’
