Bhumi Pednekar’s ivory Rohit Bal ensemble came with a structured jacket and pearl detailing

Bhumi Pednekar channelled the grandeur of a Mughal portrait at the Milken Institute Asia Summit in Singapore, wearing a three-piece Rohit Bal creation from his Kaaynaat collection. Styled by Manisha Melwani, the look came together in shades of ivory, elevated with jewellery by Anmol Sandhu.

Her ensemble featured a structured mulmul jacket, quilted into a sculpted peplum and embroidered with silk-thread botanicals. It was paired with a sheer silk-organza lehenga detailed with Chanderi-style appliqué and fine pearl work. The play between the jacket’s tailored silhouette and the skirt’s translucent volume created a sense of movement within stillness. A matching cap crowned the look, recalling the ceremonial dressing of Mughal courts.

Part of Kaaynaat: A Bloom in the Universe, Bal’s Lakmé Fashion Week 2024 showcase, the look distilled his long-held fascinations: the romance of Kashmir and the opulence of Mughal craft. The designer often described Delhi winters as a sartorial memory of that era—structured jackets, shararas, embroidered mulmul—and his return to the runway echoed that nostalgia in what he called “clotted cream” tones and botanical embroidery.

The jewellery consisted of circular studs with gold-toned intricate detailing and strings of pearls cascading down, which framed the face without overpowering the silhouette. Bhumi Pednekar wore her sleek and centre-parted, while makeup stayed defined: softly sculpted skin, precise eyes and a muted rose lip.

From Vogue’s fashion desk:

“Ditch the lehenga and focus your Navratri look with the iconic backless choli. Opt for playful, contemporary designs from labels like Angi Wali, Same Sisters and more. Instead of a classic lehenga skirt, pair your blouse with a draped and fitted skirt in a fabric that flows or stretches, think jersey, satin or lycra blends. Elevate the ensemble (literally) with chunky, maximalist Indian heels to create an overall sleekness. Finish the look with a metallic mini bag and a smoky eye for that evening look,” says Vogue India fashion associate Manglien Gangte.

7 dreamy colour combinations that turned heads this fashion month

When it comes to colour trends and colour combinations that have swept us off our feet this season, there is simply no avoiding brown. The front rows have been a veritable chocolate box of mocha, caramel and toffee shades. And while wearing the colour top to toe is a surefire way to look stylish this season, many have been pairing it with cooler tones – think icy blue or mint green – to break up all that richness. Brown and blue was a theme at Prada, Stella McCartney and Chloé for autumn/winter 2025.

Overall, the mood is low-key – nothing garish. The sort of deep oranges and reds you’d associate with New England foliage, along with moss greens and more of those browns, are defining this season’s wardrobe once again. But while this isn’t the season for clashing, there are some clever – and impactful – ways to incorporate colour into an otherwise neutral-heavy look. Keep scrolling for seven elegant colour combinations to take inspiration from this fashion month.

Horoscope Today: October 7, 2025

Your past defines your present, and it is your present that defines your future. So Leo, while you may be struggling to change the outcome of your future, you may need to remember this tiny detail—and the loophole that it carries. So let’s revisit this—your past defines the way you perceive your present. But what you choose in your present defines your future outcomes. Take a moment to step back and refrain from muscle memory response, and you will be in a more neutral space to choose differently and wisely.

Cosmic tip: You will definitely shine—but the way you shine depends on how you wish to show up.

Denser times may be surrounding you, Virgo; however, remember that amidst it all, you hold the power to be the light on your own path. Your patience and vision will be greatly rewarded, but for now, this is your time of dee,p deep surrender. This is your time to do what you know best, and this is your time to allow your seeds to grow at their own pace. Be what you wish to attract—so if you want more love, be more loving. If you want more money, understand abundance more deeply, and if you want more support, find that anchor within yourself and your life in unexpected ways.

Cosmic tip: It is time for you to cleanse and detoxify.

Between the two extremes of life, Libra, of your conscious vs subconscious, the material and the solely energetic, the good and the bad, lies the balance. This moment may call for rational thinking and being, over an emotional and overly heart-centred way of life. The time will arrive when you enjoy the finery of life, where you revel in the beauty of it all; however, this is the moment where you are tying loose ends and making things swivel in a new direction.

Cosmic tip: Turn over a new leaf by cherishing your inner sacredness.

It is the time when you have done all you can, and Scorpio, to be honest, you are sitting pretty right now. You’re line, hook and sinker with the cosmos, and it will soon be time for you to begin reeling it all in. For now, your angels suggest that you rest, reset and recharge. Give your mind, thoughts and to-do list a short break and listen to that wisdom within. You also have another message to be judicious with your finances and ideas. Discernment allows you to not only share but also have enough left for when the time calls for it. This even holds of your energy.

How to make concealers for oily skin last all day, according to a celebrity makeup artist

Finding concealers for oily skin can often feel like chasing a myth. Creased under-eyes, faded coverage and excess oil are all too familiar. The trick, however, isn’t just in picking the concealer but in how you prep, apply and pair it. With expert insight from celebrity makeup artist Tanvi Chemburkar, this guide breaks down how to make your concealer stay matte, seamless and exactly where you want it.

What kind of concealer actually works for oily skin?

Dewy and creamy formulas are a big no, says Chemburkar. “Any product that’s too creamy or stick-based tends to draw out more oil and ends up looking greasy. Instead, go for concealers that are matte or soft-matte in finish.” Look for keywords like oil-free, non-comedogenic or contains silicone—they keep excess oil and clogged pores out of the equation. Chemburkar recommends lightweight but buildable formulas, so you can increase coverage without layering on too much.

Can the wrong concealer make things worse?

The wrong concealers for oily skin can also lead to breakouts and congestion. “If a formula is too thick, greasy or pore-clogging, it mixes with the sebum your skin naturally produces,” says Chemburkar. “This clogs pores and causes breakouts, and suddenly you’re covering more pimples than you started with.” Your concealer should cover imperfections, not cause them.

Spot conceal or layer?

For oily skin, less is always more. Chemburkar swears by spot-concealing instead of spreading product across the entire face. “Just apply a dot where you need it. Multiple layers will only crease, slip and look cakey as the day goes on.”

Brush vs sponge

Brushes win this round. “Brushes place the product precisely without adding extra warmth or moisture like your fingers,” explains Chemburkar. “Sponges absorb a lot of product and can sometimes hold too much moisture, which makes the product slide. A dry brush gives you better control and longer-lasting results.” So swap the sponge for a fluffy concealer brush and enjoy a smoother, oil-controlled finish.

Common concealer myths

More concealer equals more coverage: Too much product only leads to creasing and cakiness. Work in thin layers and spot-conceal instead.

Always go lighter than your foundation: True only for brightening the under-eyes. For blemishes or redness, choose a shade that matches your skin tone or is slightly warmer.

Concealer hides texture: It covers discolouration, not bumps. No product can smooth your texture entirely.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s archival Elie Saab look is a sari-inspired ode to India

Priyanka Chopra Jonas brought couture and culture together at the Pratham Charity Gala in New York, celebrating the NGO’s 30th anniversary. Styled by Ami Patel, the actor wore an archival Elie Saab gown from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2016 haute couture collection titled ‘Enter India’. The one-shoulder silhouette, with its sheer layers, intricate beadwork and sari-inspired drape, paid homage to India’s craftsmanship while reflecting on Saab’s design language.

Elie Saab, renowned for his ethereal gowns and exquisite craftsmanship, has established a global legacy through intricate embroidery, crystals and lacework. His creations often blend structure with softness, making him a red-carpet favourite among Hollywood and Bollywood alike. The Enter India collection was Saab’s tribute to Indian artistry, where every sequin seemed to tell a story of heritage and design.

For accessories, Chopra turned to Bvlgari, keeping her choices minimal. One wrist was left bare while the other featured a watch, complemented by rings and drop earrings from the Maison. Her Bvlgari Serpenti bag in a metallic-ivory finish, which she chose to carry with the gold chain strap as a top handle, the flap detailed with the brand’s signature gold enamel snakehead clasp. The bag’s structured form offered a neat counterpoint to the gown’s ornate beadwork and fluid drape. She completed her look with Aquazzura heels that mostly remained hidden under a floor-grazing gown.

Her hair was styled in a sleek, low bun that framed her face and highlighted the gown’s neckline. For makeup, Priyanka Chopra kept the focus on her eyes with lavender shadows, a fine flick of liner and fluttery lashes. This was complemented with warm, rosy cheeks and a mauve lip.

From Vogue’s Fashion Desk:

“Priyanka’s archival Elie Saab sari dress is truly a beautiful look that balances East meets West sensibilities glamorously. To achieve the same, work with a fitted gown or dress incorporate a dupatta, plain or embellished. Play with the drape of the dupatta to create interest in the silhouette, you can tie it and create a bow, a sash-like drape or the classical style of it hung across your neck. Pair this with oversized statement earrings and stilettos, ”says Vogue India’s Associate Fashion Features Editor, Divya Balakrishnan.

7 ways celebrities are styling jeans with sneakers, loafers and more

In today’s fashion landscape, jeans with sneakers have become a simple yet impactful way to express personal style. Jeans, beyond their functionality, bring effortless polish to any look. Their timelessness and versatility have earned them a place in every type of closet, no matter the preferred cut. This is evident in the everyday outfits of celebrities, who use the garment as a canvas for their own aesthetics.

And as it turns out, no matter which denim silhouette is trending, figures like Dakota Johnson, Jisoo of Blackpink, and Miley Cyrus prove that this season, booties, loafers and flats alongside sneakers are the essential finishing touches.

Dakota Johnson can’t resist a pair of straight jeans, and it shows. The American actress is often photographed wearing them with loafers, but her aesthetic range is wide. She’ll just as easily pair grey denim with sneakers or grunge boots. For a casual look, the actress and producer has been spotted wearing hers with a sweatshirt and a leather trench coat—a perfect outfit for casual dressers and ’90s lovers alike.

Bootcut jeans with denim booties

Bohemian-inspired blouses should not be put away just yet. The runways of Altuzarra, Valentino and Ulla Johnson confirmed their continued relevance. Bella Hadid demonstrated just how easy it is to transition between seasons by pairing a vibrant orange, blue and yellow blouse with bootcut jeans and denim booties. To make it work for the office, simply add a blazer; for the weekend, swap it in for a denim jacket.

Capri jeans may seem like an unlikely choice for fall, but the major fashion capitals prove otherwise. While some gravitate towards skinny versions that recall the 2000s, Aimee Lou Wood styled her cropped jeans with a T-shirt, leather jacket, white socks and pointed loafers—striking the perfect balance between polished and laid-back.

Wide-leg jeans remain a favourite of Jennifer Lopez and Sofia Vergara, often paired with platform shoes to elongate the silhouette. Jisoo of Blackpink gave the look a more formal spin, styling her wide-leg jeans with chunky-soled loafers and a biker jacket.

When it comes to showing off your shoes, cuffed jeans are the way to go. The folded hem draws subtle attention without overwhelming the look, making them a versatile choice for any wardrobe. Miley Cyrus knows their power—she styled hers with an olive trench coat and Tabi ballerinas.

Few denim styles have made as much of an impact in recent years as baggy jeans. Comfortable and perfect for both pared-back and urban outfits, they’ve secured their place as a modern staple. Katie Holmes, a master of off-duty street style, showed how to keep warm while wearing them: all you need is a shirt, a loose cardigan, Mary Jane flats and socks.

The full moon on October 6 will have an intense effect on these four zodiac signs

On October 6, a super full moon will rise in the sky. A super full moon occurs when the moon comes particularly close to the Earth and therefore appears larger and brighter in the sky. This proximity not only strengthens the tidal forces of the oceans but also our emotional ebb and flow. It brings feelings to the surface and creates a strong urge for clarity, action and liberation. Cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are likely to feel the energy of this full moon especially strongly. They are called to act more intensely; they may have to take a stand, set their boundaries or make important decisions. For them, this full moon marks a significant turning point.

Mercury in Scorpio: Hidden truths and important conversations

Just a few hours before the full moon on October 6, Mercury will move into intense Scorpio, adding an extra dimension to the full moon energy. While the Aries full moon prompts us to act spontaneously and directly, Mercury in Scorpio directs our thoughts and conversations in depth.

This combination invites us not only to speak boldly, but also to look beneath the surface, to recognise hidden truths, to have profound conversations and to speak out about what was previously hidden. Communication will intensify in the coming weeks and the discovery of a truth or information will set things in motion that have been blocked for a long time.

Between ‘me’ and ‘we’

The full moon in fiery Aries is opposite the sun in airy Libra and expresses a fundamental tension: the balance between ‘I’ and ‘we’. While the Libra sun reminds us of the importance of relationships, compromise and diplomacy, the Aries moon demands self-assertion, authenticity and personal courage. Aries does not wait for permission but acts on its own initiative. The trick is to honour both poles and fulfil our own needs without neglecting others.

Time for emotional truth

This full moon is all about emotional confessions. Something has been building up inside of us, and the cosmic energy demands that we let it out. It’s no longer time to sit on our feelings. We need to express them, even if they seem new and not entirely rational.

With the moon shining brightly in the sky, a symbolic enlightenment is also happening in our own lives. New insights can arise now, especially in relation to our bodies, our leadership qualities, our ability to start new things and our close partnerships.

The full moon in October 2025 is perfect for this:

Stand up for yourself

The Aries energy encourages you to clearly state your needs and stand up for yourself. Now (plus/minus two days before and after the full moon) is the right time to free yourself from the role of the eternal compromiser and authentically say what you really want and, above all, do it. This honesty towards yourself is the first step towards real change.

Complete old projects

The full moon marks a time of completion, especially for projects you may have started about six months ago at the Aries new moon. Use the supermoon’s power to take the final step and bring something to completion. The cosmic support is on your side. Now is not the time to procrastinate.

Physical movement

The fiery Aries energy wants to flow through your body and needs a physical outlet. Whether it’s sport, dancing, martial arts or yoga, any kind of intense physical activity helps to channel the pent-up energy constructively. This prevents the tension from escalating into impatience or aggression. Your body is now your best buddy for expressing emotional intensity.

Have courageous, tough conversations

With Mercury in Scorpio and the Aries full moon, this is the perfect time for honest, in-depth conversations. Say what has needed to be said for a long time, even if it’s unpleasant. The good thing is that it doesn’t have to burst out of you; you can prepare yourself by writing down the most important points beforehand. Say what you think and don’t beat around the bush. Trust that honesty is the better way in the long run.

Get rid of the outdated

Aries energy is impulsive, courageous and daring. Full moons are times of letting go, and this one is particularly encouraging. Whether it’s toxic relationships, limiting beliefs, unhealthy habits or professional situations that are keeping you down: free yourself and let it go.

What you should avoid around this full moon:

Allowing conflicts to escalate unnecessarily

The combination of Aries fire and Scorpio intensity through Mercury can lead to explosive arguments. Even though honesty is important, it doesn’t have to be destructive. Try not to fall into old patterns of argument or deliberately target sore points. Authenticity does not mean being ruthless. Find a way to communicate your truth with respect.

Sacrifice your own needs completely

The sun is in Libra during this full moon, and this energy can tempt us to neglect our own needs for the sake of peace. But this is exactly what the Aries full moon is warning us against. Anyone who falls back into old patterns of self-sacrifice now will feel the consequences in the coming weeks. Harmony that is based on denying yourself is not real harmony, but a ticking time bomb.

Being careless with sleep

Many people experience insomnia during a super full moon because the increased lunar energy activates our nervous system and keeps us more alert. Reaching for caffeine or scrolling on your cell phone for hours at night only makes this worse. So no caffeine after midday and no blue screen light in bed. And when sleep comes, dreams under this full moon are often particularly intense and symbolic. Make a note of your dreams, because your subconscious is sending you important messages now.

Castor oil stomach wraps helped my bloating more than any supplement

You’d be hard-pressed to find a wellness fad I haven’t tried. Butter coffee, propping my legs up against a wall (crucial for pre-bed anxiety spikes), sweating my life away in an infrared sauna–if someone (anyone) has said it’s good for you, then I’ve done it. My latest fixation is one of my more controversial: nightly castor oil stomach wraps.

As a pre-bed ritual, I’ll take a palmful of castor oil, rub it onto my stomach in a clockwise motion, then wrap a beige piece of medical-looking fabric over the top to protect my pyjamas and sheets from oil stains. It’s a bit like wearing a huge, ugly belt. In the morning, I’ll whip it off, jump in the shower and go about my day.

The benefits I’ve noticed include substantially less bloating in the morning, and better and much more regular bowel movements. An overshare, perhaps, but if you’re a hormonally-challenged person, constipation can exacerbate already painful symptoms due to a build-up of excess oestrogen that can’t be excreted. Buoyed by my own observations,  I went in search of an expert to help me understand exactly why it’s been working.

Does castor oil wrapping actually work?

If you go by the thousands of social media videos showing people, like me, using castor oil on their stomachs, then yes. Doctors and medical professionals, however, take a much more dim view of the whole thing.

“It possibly works,” Dr Vijay Murthy, functional medicine and ayurvedic doctor and founder of the Murthy Clinic, says when I ask. “There’s a small study signalling castor oil can help ease constipation symptoms in older adults.” But, he cautions, that clinical trial didn’t show an increase in bowel frequency – just improved symptoms over a short period of time.

Murthy agrees that there are benefits to using castor oil packs for comfort, warmth and relaxation – he just can’t go as far as to suggest that applying castor oil topically can do much to help with aiding digestion. It’s also not recommended to use a castor oil pack during menstruation, as it can increase cramping and, in some instances, bleeding.

Castor oil contains something called ricinoleic acid, which stimulates smooth muscle (the small and large intestines each contain multiple layers) and can mimic the effects of a laxative. Taking castor oil orally, though, is not recommended for many people, including pregnant women, as it can trigger “uterine-stimulation”, or early labour, and interact with certain medications.

3 reasons women’s friendships are stronger than men’s friendships

Being truly seen and loved is something that, for a while now, was thought to only happen in romantic relationships. But women’s friendships, even though they’re platonic, have a pull of their own: They can deliver the same intimacy, connection and support you’d expect from a partner through your highs, lows and messy in-betweens.

“For a lot of women, the relationships with our female friends are actually the centre of our lives,” says Joy Harden Bradford, PhD, licensed psychologist and author of Sisterhood Heals: The Transformative Power of Healing in Community. “When we look at who’s really been there for us when things were difficult, when we weren’t sure who we were, it really is our girlfriends who help us find our identities through the years to get stronger.”

So why do women’s friendships feel so different—and often stronger—than friendships between men? According to Dr. Bradford, these are the unique factors that set them apart.

1. Women bond by confiding, not just through shared activities

“Even as children, girls are often socialised to interact with their peers through storytelling, secret keeping and secret sharing,” Dr. Bradford says. From the playground to the dorm rooms, they’re encouraged to talk about what’s happening in their lives—confiding about crushes, work stress or family drama—to narrate the small, daily moments that shape their world.

Boys, on the other hand, tend to form bonds around shared activities, Dr. Bradford explains—like video games, sports and other collaborative hobbies. While these moments do provide solid common ground to build an organic friendship, they also leave less room for the kind of open, vulnerable conversations that foster emotional intimacy, seen as the foundation of many female bonds.

2. Women are socialised to be more vulnerable

For so long, toxic masculinity has made it feel unnatural, even embarrassing or shameful, for men to cry about disappointment, express their hurt feelings or confront a friend about something that bothered them (like repeated lateness or a passive-aggressive comment).

“Only recently are we coming around to discussing a healthier approach to masculinity: that it’s okay to be in touch with your feelings and cry,” Dr. Bradford says—something that has long been normalised, practised and encouraged amongst women.

3. Women pay attention to the small details

Dr. Bradford has noticed that women, in particular, are great at remembering the small but meaningful details of each other’s lives—the big presentation you were nervous about, for instance, or that annual checkup you kept postponing, or the Tinder date you off-handedly mentioned during a happy hour.
