Anne Hathaway trades Andy’s Chanel boots for Chanel dad sandals

Gird your loins! The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially in production and—even off camera—Anne Hathaway is dressing the part.

The actor was photographed on the set of the sequel dressed in an outfit that is decidedly more Anne than Andy. Hathaway was spotted on the streets of New York City dressed in a summery look: a white tank top underneath an open black waistcoat and a light-wash denim maxi skirt with a frayed hem.

On Instagram, Hathaway teased a look at the 2025 Andy Sachs, dressed the part of a digital media mogul in a pinstripe waistcoat and trousers from Jean Paul Gaultier, black boots, and a heap of necklaces. Still, there was a hint of the 2006 Andy in Hathaway’s off-duty style. While the original film saw Runway employees quickly discarding their commuter clogs for stilettos, Andy traded in her loafers for her famous thigh-high Chanel boots. These days, though, there’s no need to clomp around in heels. Today Hathaway opted for the luxury market’s answer to orthopedic sandals: a pair of black Chanels with a double Velcro strap.

Horoscope Today: July 22, 2025

Cosmic tip: Choose your health and happiness over getting everyone to do the ‘right’ thing. Because ultimately, you know, even truth is subjective.

Take your time. Scorps, take your time to heal, to reevaluate life, to assess your business, to simply breathe. You have been trying to save the day for everyone and everything, now, how about saving the day for yourself, too? That idea you have, it may be time for you to get started with a tiny little step and truckloads of faith. That mind of yours may be playing optical illusions on loop, but remember, you are the master of seeing through illusions, and you do it best when you are grounded and safe within yourself. Time to hydrate well, try and get some sleep and perhaps even take charge of your health and schedule. You may be inches away from your winning ticket, but you need to pace yourself well to get there.

Cosmic tip: A positive outcome is dependent on the mindset with which you approach things.

You have been digging deep in your heart, Sag. There has been a lot going on beneath that surface, and you, my dear, have been revealing your true colours to yourself. Who you are behind that mask, who you wish to be, what are your newfound priorities, are they all becoming clearer to you? And for those of you struggling to keep up with these changes happening inside of you, your guides ask you to unwind and declutter your schedule. It is only when your mind is away from the noise that you will be able to hear the call of your soul. It is only when you do less that you will hear the answers to “What is it that I want to do? What are my priorities? And who am I?” For those of you who have already got a vague idea of these existential questions, you simply need to pour more of yourself where your answers lie.

Cosmic tip: Heart-to-heart communication opens many doors for you. Even the magical cosmic ones.

Feel whatever it is that you need to feel, Capricorn. How much longer will you put up a brave front? How much longer will you keep putting practicality ahead of your emotionality? You are given a rainbow spectrum of these feelings because you are human, and each one of these feelings serves a purpose; however, their purpose gets lost when you suppress or hide them. You are going through profound shifts in your life, and every time you allow yourself to experience an emotion, you allow your being to heal. It is a time for blessed changes for you.

Hailey Bieber gets candid about her dermatitis flare-ups and how she treats them

Though we all know Hailey Bieber for her “glazed doughnut” skin, even the most dewy and clear-complexioned among us will suffer from some kind of skin issue.

Dr Mary L Stevenson, MD, at NYU Langone Health, previously defined perioral dermatitis for Vogue as “a skin condition which results in dry, flaky red skin as well as red bumps or papules. It can look like acne, although it is a distinct diagnosis with some overlap in treatment. In addition, it can be itchy, red, dry, and swollen.” What that looks like in reality: every couple of months, you can experience irritated, uncomfortable rashes on a concentrated area of your face (usually, the mouth) that are next to impossible to cover up and take a long time to clear up. Perioral dermatitis is most common among women between the ages of 25 to 49, and can last for weeks or months.

Bieber took to her Instagram Story to share her recent experience of a perioral dermatitis flare-up, posting a makeup-free selfie to show the small bumps and texture on the lower half of her face. She captioned her Story saying that it “always flares when I’m travelling a lot, sleep deprived, hormones, the wrong SPF, new products, stress.” Derms can’t be totally sure yet what causes DP—the research isn’t there yet—but plenty of DP sufferers will say similar. (This writer included—anything from a new product gifted to me at Christmas that has some fragrance or actives I’ve been unacquainted with, to a few summer holidays, or a particularly stressful stretch of work can stir the bumpy skin).

How to style mesh flats, according to the street-style set

I don’t know if your workplace is the same, but at Vogue HQ, everyone’s shoes are missing. And by “missing”, I mean they have been replaced by a web of mesh that fits snugly around the foot. I’m talking, of course, about mesh flats, which have dominated both summer and autumn wardrobes for the past couple of years, starting around 2019, when The Row sold those barely-there slippers, and accelerating in 2023, when Alaïa’s fishnet flats started to become ubiquitous on the front row and beyond.

These days, the mesh flat is more like a classic shoe than a passing trend, worn with everything from slouchy jeans to tailoring and maxi skirts. “Unlike regular ballerinas, which have also taken prime position on the catwalks in recent seasons, these semi-sheer styles are gossamer thin, ensuring breathability,” senior shopping writer Alice Cary previously wrote for British Vogue, adding that, a bit like with the naked dress trend, it’s up to you how much you choose to expose.

So how best to wear these modern classics? You could take cues from the style’s biggest fan, Jennifer Lawrence, who wears them with pretty much everything. Or, you could make like Gigi Hadid and wear them for date night with luxe silver trackies and a ponytail. Or, of course, you could turn to the street-style set for pointers. See all the inspiration you need below.

Cosmic tip: Allow the mysterious ways of the cosmos to guide you forward.

Have you considered that perhaps you carry that baggage around because it makes you feel familiar? Sometimes our fears and insecurities become our safety net, Gemini, and that is only human. Take a step back, make a wish and ask the cosmos to stand tall beside you. Your answers will be found in stillness, not in unrest. On a side note, your angels insist that while you are looking at all that needs fixing, even within you, also look at the strengths that help you tide you through.

Cosmic tip: Take a chance on your destiny.

This new beginning you are working towards, Cancer, will lead you to lasting security and happiness. This larger-than-life dream that you cherish is written in the stars, and you will find people, resources and the love you need to see this through. Trust in the workings of the cosmos because it is all being worked out on the backend. You must keep holding your vision, you must keep moving ahead with your plans, and you will be surprised at all the help that arrives just when you need it.

Cosmic tip: Sometimes, to make a change, you must be willing to take a stand.

Consistency, even if cyclical, brings rewards far greater than being in a linear rush to get somewhere. Leo, nurture what matters most to you: health, wealth, relationships, happiness, or all. Now is the time to allow your ideas to flourish while also taking careful steps forward. Be wary of holding on too tightly or letting loose too much. You must allow room for growth while also taking on a practical, grounded approach to helping your plans take tangible form.

Cosmic tip: You may be tired, but it is not yet time to give up.

You are free. You are supported. You are moving. Virgo, this feeling of being trapped is no longer something you need to keep holding onto. This feeling of wanting things to change is not a dream anymore. Break free from your illusions and embrace change, however slow and snail-paced it may feel. Healing and movement seldom come in a rush; they arrive in layers and waves so that we feel equipped enough to deal with them and integrate them. Allow peace of mind and emotional stability to become your new normal, because it is so.

As a fat woman, I thought the sex scenes in Too Much were perfect

Fatphobia is on the rise. With weight-loss injections becoming the norm, #skinnytok promoting disordered eating (the hashtag itself may now be banned, but the culture persists) and the return of Y2K fashion and its ultra-thin aesthetic, it can feel as if the advances made by body positivity and fat acceptance movements over the last decade or so have been erased. As a fat woman trying to maintain my hard-won equanimity after a lifetime learning to hate my body, I find the current climate extremely depressing. Thank God, then, for Lena Dunham’s new Netflix series Too Much, which follows recently single Jessica (Megan Stalter) as she quits New York to find true love in London with heartthrob-slash-muso Felix (Will Sharpe), all the while inhabiting her plus-size frame with unapologetic pizzazz. It has truly been a tonic.

Dunham is no stranger to portraying non-conforming bodies: when her iconic series Girls was first released back in 2012, she garnered both praise and vitriol for depicting her own ever-so-slightly larger than average self having sex. In hindsight, it seems incredible that the reaction was so huge, because, really, the variation in size between Dunham and her Girls co-stars was negligible. I suppose it serves to illustrate the intense stricture of the prevailing beauty standard, when even the slightest deviation is considered an outrage. Similarly, Stalter’s Jessica would barely register as fat in the real world, and she is also unequivocally gorgeous, with her mermaid hair and sparkling eyes. In TV world, though, she is a break from convention, and one I personally take great heart from: in 2025, it is still so rare to see a fat woman as a romantic lead, so to watch a body even a little bit like mine joyfully shagging on screen feels remarkable.

The sex scenes in Girls shifted culture. Not only for their inclusion of Dunham’s body, but also for their frank depiction of sex as gritty and unglamorous. This realism is carried over in the sex scenes in Too Much: Jessica and Felix’s encounters are often awkward, as they fumble to remove their clothes or find the most comfortable position. However, what was lacking in Girls, but which is abundantly present in Too Much, is a sense of warmth and playfulness during sex; the couple frequently laugh and make jokes, even in the midst of the act. Indeed, their sex in many ways functions as an extension of their conversation; another way of connecting, much like how they swap song recommendations, talk about their childhoods or watch Paddington (the Paddington scene is pure gold, Sharpe deserves all the awards). Their sex is gloriously quotidian and resolutely undramatic—which is what sex can so often be like. In the one brief moment that drama does threaten to enter the bedroom—when Jessica expresses a momentary lack of confidence in her sexual prowess—it is swiftly extinguished by Felix: “I love your body,” he tells her, simply and straightforwardly, “I love everything about your body.”

When watching this scene, I found myself giddy with glee. True, it is nothing I haven’t heard from my own husband, as I’m sure is the case for many in my position; it isn’t in any way surprising to me that a man as attractive as Felix would openly profess his desire for a fat woman. Nonetheless, there is something extremely gratifying—perhaps even vindicating—about hearing this line delivered so clearly and casually on TV, as if the truth it contains is so eminently obvious, it barely needs to be spoken. But the thing is, it absolutely does need to be spoken, because it’s still so rarely seen on our screens, if ever.

The Japanese walking routine for people who hate running

If you’re not a fan of jogging, the options for staying fit can feel limited. Enter the ‘Japanese Walking Routine’, a structured alternative for those who’d rather skip the run but still want results.

As the name suggests, this method originated in Japan, where researchers developed a protocol known as Interval Walking Training (IWT). The idea is simple: increase the intensity and frequency of walking sessions to unlock greater health benefits. Think of it as a 30-minute high-intensity walking workout.

First introduced in a 2007 study, the method showed impressive results: adults who followed the routine four times a week experienced lower blood pressure and a 9% boost in aerobic capacity. The benefits didn’t stop at heart health; participants also improved their flexibility and muscle strength, with knee extension and flexion increasing by 13% and 17% respectively. Not bad for a workout that doesn’t involve running.

How to follow the Japanese Walking Routine

This routine follows an interval training format that alternates between higher and lower intensities of effort. Here’s the basic plan:

  • Walk briskly for 3 minutes (around 70% of your maximum aerobic capacity)
  • Follow with 3 minutes of slower walking (around 40%)
  • Repeat these intervals for a total of 30 minutes

Modelled on the running split, the routine varies walking pace to challenge the cardiovascular system, boost endurance, and sharpen responsiveness. With a good pair of cushioned shoes, it’s a low-impact way to borrow the benefits of a runner’s workout with no actual running required. A reminder that fitness doesn’t have to follow a single path, as long as you find the one that works for you.

6 ways to wear a maxi skirt with trainers

Many of the styling tricks you see on your daily Instagram scroll can be traced back to a particular runway moment – whether that’s lace slip skirts over jeans (as seen at The Row) or white cotton nighties that aren’t just for bedtime (Miu Miu). However, some of the styling ideas that take hold in a season aren’t born out of ingenuity, but a more practical solution that is all about ease.

While I can’t think of one spring/summer 2025 look that showcased a maxi skirt and sneakers, every time I leave my east London flat this summer I see different iterations of this trusted uniform. In her early days of modelling, Kate Moss lived in black jersey maxis with red suede Gazelles — an outfit that three decades later still defines effortless London style and remains Pinterest fodder.

Last summer, Vogue’s Alice Newbold declared that the summer dress is dead, and that instead, it’s all about the summer skirt. Twelve months later, and this statement encapsulates the 2025 mood. When it comes to specific trending skirts, anything goes, as over the last few weeks we have documented the rise of the boho tiered skirt, the micro mini and bubble-hem skirts.

Still, maxi skirts have a timeless appeal. A black column maxi skirt, for example, is a Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy staple that is a timeless foundational piece, which looks best when paired with a black streamlined runner or ’90s throwback, such as an Adidas Gazelle or Samba. For more volume, either opt for a bubble-hem skirt that scoops down to the ankle or a tiered skirt (camo gives more edge, white will push it into boho territory) – both will go with any style of sneakers, although chunky trainers give it a more streetwear feel.

Keep scrolling for six ideas for how to pair a maxi skirt with trainers this season and beyond.
