ICYMI: Shakira kickstarted her highly anticipated ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ World Tour 2025 in Rio De Janeiro, a few days ago. On the first night, the singer took centre stage in a custom Anamika Khanna outfit, performing one of her leading tracks from the ’90s—‘Ojas Asi’. The red silhouette was a crowd-pleaser, complete with intricate embroidery, shining Swarovski crystals and fluid draping, pulled together by a silver sequinned fabric.

A pioneer in Indian fashion, Anamika Khanna was the first Indian designer to showcase her collection at Paris Fashion Week in 2007. Her signature designs are inspired by traditional Indian textiles and embrace a diverse mood board of colours, embroidery and prints.
Compared to her vibrant couture, costumes allow her to create pieces that are less traditional and more experimental. This dramatic and sultry red look captured the fluidity of a costume along with fine Indian craftsmanship. Additionally, Shakira is not the first international personality to wear Anamika Khanna. Last year was eventful for the designer, with Kelly Rowland wore her creation at the Cannes Film Festival and the Ambani women donned her designs at Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani’s wedding.
