Priyanka Chopra Jonas brought couture and culture together at the Pratham Charity Gala in New York, celebrating the NGO’s 30th anniversary. Styled by Ami Patel, the actor wore an archival Elie Saab gown from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2016 haute couture collection titled ‘Enter India’. The one-shoulder silhouette, with its sheer layers, intricate beadwork and sari-inspired drape, paid homage to India’s craftsmanship while reflecting on Saab’s design language.
Elie Saab, renowned for his ethereal gowns and exquisite craftsmanship, has established a global legacy through intricate embroidery, crystals and lacework. His creations often blend structure with softness, making him a red-carpet favourite among Hollywood and Bollywood alike. The Enter India collection was Saab’s tribute to Indian artistry, where every sequin seemed to tell a story of heritage and design.

For accessories, Chopra turned to Bvlgari, keeping her choices minimal. One wrist was left bare while the other featured a watch, complemented by rings and drop earrings from the Maison. Her Bvlgari Serpenti bag in a metallic-ivory finish, which she chose to carry with the gold chain strap as a top handle, the flap detailed with the brand’s signature gold enamel snakehead clasp. The bag’s structured form offered a neat counterpoint to the gown’s ornate beadwork and fluid drape. She completed her look with Aquazzura heels that mostly remained hidden under a floor-grazing gown.
Her hair was styled in a sleek, low bun that framed her face and highlighted the gown’s neckline. For makeup, Priyanka Chopra kept the focus on her eyes with lavender shadows, a fine flick of liner and fluttery lashes. This was complemented with warm, rosy cheeks and a mauve lip.
From Vogue’s Fashion Desk:
“Priyanka’s archival Elie Saab sari dress is truly a beautiful look that balances East meets West sensibilities glamorously. To achieve the same, work with a fitted gown or dress incorporate a dupatta, plain or embellished. Play with the drape of the dupatta to create interest in the silhouette, you can tie it and create a bow, a sash-like drape or the classical style of it hung across your neck. Pair this with oversized statement earrings and stilettos, ”says Vogue India’s Associate Fashion Features Editor, Divya Balakrishnan.
