Suhana Khan’s latest outing proves tweed doesn’t have to mean stiff suits or boardroom armour. In the hands of Sau Lee, the Hong Kong–based label known for splicing traditional craftsmanship with modern silhouettes, the fabric feels lighter, fresher, more city-chic.

The co-ord set featured a cropped, long-sleeved jacket with hand-tied white pipa-knot closures, a signature of the label, and flap pockets, paired with a high-waisted mini skirt. Cut in tweed with a high slit, the ensemble is a nod to East-meets-West tailoring codes that Sau Lee often refines into eveningwear.
On paper, the combination recalled the primness of Chanel’s archival tweed suits, but in practice, the form looked far lighter and more lively. What could have easily veered into old-school territory was instead given a city-chic update. Mohit Rai’s styling loosened it up: the cream Hermès Kelly mini, an icon in its own right, added luxury without overpowering the look, while strappy Jacquemus heels cut through the primness.

Her beauty notes were characteristically understated: bronzed skin, peach-gloss lips and mascara-heavy lashes. Hair was pulled back into a high ponytail with tousled ends for movement, loose wisps framing the face. Even her blush-pink nails echoed the unfussy mood. Nothing looked overworked, which is precisely why it landed.

“Lean into the retro-preppy vibe. Pair the tweed set with sheer black tights and pointed pumps, then throw on oversized gold hoops. Keep the mini top-handle bag but wear the hair in a voluminous blowout. A headband is an option if you wanna go all out,” says Vogue India fashion associate Manglien Gangte.
