Kareena Kapoor Khan revisits an archival Valentino skirt set designed by Valentino Garavani himself

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s latest look pulls from fashion history as she steps out in a beige skirt-and-blazer set from Valentino Spring/Summer 1993, designed by Valentino Garavani himself. At first glance, the silhouette feels familiar: a fitted blazer paired with a knee-length pencil skirt, cut close and purposeful in line.

Then the details start to register. Two embroidered elephants sit low on the blazer’s front panels, placed symmetrically and treated as graphic elements rather than ornament. A line of statement buttons runs through the centre, acting as a vertical anchor, while the blazer’s shortened, non-traditional sleeves break from the expectation of a full-length cut.

Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the surrounding choices stay tight. Nude pointed heels follow the clean line of the skirt, while the sunglasses introduce a faintly retro edge that suits the archival origin of the set. A brown leather Gucci Bamboo top-handle bag adds to the warmth the gold buttons and jewellery bring to the ensemble.

Hair is pulled back into a sleek bun, clearing the neckline and sleeves so the cut of the blazer reads clearly. Makeup stays minimal, with neutral eyes, defined liner and a nude lip. Jewellery is kept spare: gold hoops, a slim chain necklace and a watch. In 2025, the appeal of the look lies in how little it needs updating.
